Hollins University

Hollins University is a renowned women's college that happens to be in our very own backyard. In recent years, Hollins has diversified its graduate programs in both courses of study and student body. With these changes, the University identified the need to educate co-ed students on the world-class graduate programs that can be found on its beautiful southwest Virginia campus.

Firefli was asked to construct integrated digital campaigns for specific programs, targeted at hyperniche, co-ed demographics on a national level. Hollins believes that "those looking to go places start here", and we've been honored to help deliver that message to a new wave of potential students.

Screenwriting & Film Studies Campaign

The Screenwriting & Film Studies M.A. & M.F.A. programs at Hollins offer both practical curriculum and world-class instructors. However, as such a niche program, the applicant pool is small — even on a national level. Firefli devised a campaign consisting of social media and Google PPC advertising targeted at undergraduates and film professionals in large markets who could be interested in graduate studies.

After a three-month run, the campaign collected 197 leads (potential applicants) from across the country.

Study Abroad Campaign

Though strictly for undergraduates, the Hollins University Study Abroad program does include students (male and female) from other universities. Offering a track in both London and Paris, the program is renowned for its track record and unique English/French hybrid learning option.

Study abroad is an increasingly competitive program offering, so Firefli was tasked with generating more awareness and potential applicants from both Hollins and similar universities.

The campaign consisted of Google PPC and social media (Facebook and Twitter) advertising, and it was targeted at students from select colleges and universities in the Mid-atlantic and east coast overall. After a four month run, the campaign generated 325 new leads.

Children's Literature & Illustration Campaign

Hollins’ uniquely diverse offerings of M.A. in Children’s Lit, M.F.A. in Children’s Lit, M.F.A. in Children’s Book Writing & Illustration, and Certificate in Children’s Book Illustration make it a desirable destination for both undergraduates and professionals. However, in an ever-evolving competitive landscape, the University asked Firefli to help with both awareness and potential applicants.

The campaign focused on both women and men with interests in children’s literature (teen & adolescent, young adult, graphic novels, etc.). After a four-month run, the campaign garnered 445 leads (potential applicants) for the summer 2016 programs.
